Title: Oligarch Night Club: Design and Technology Fusion
Project Overview:
The Oligarch Night Club in Brooklyn, New York, is a showcase of Bluarch architecture, interiors & lighting's design ingenuity. My substantial contribution involved designing an interior installation merging artistic flair and technology.
Design Scope:
My tasks included project management, concept design, lighting design, millwork specifications, construction documentation, drawings, renderings, and photography. The outcome is a unique nightclub environment that challenges traditional design.
Ceiling Design:
The centerpiece is a ceiling made up of 400 unique custom pieces, forming a wave-like structure. These pieces double as inventive light fixtures, incorporating LED strips, creating an ever-evolving ambiance.
Wave Concept:
The wave concept is applied throughout the club, influencing the bar and walls. This results in an immersive experience, blurring the line between the dreamlike environment and reality, with undulating forms contributing to a visually impressive setting.
Fabrication Process:
The production process combined traditional craftsmanship and advanced techniques. Photos detail the journey from concept to reality, illustrating the complexity involved in the creation. A mix of materials and technologies, like laser cutters and CNC machines, were used to attain precision.
Digital Fabrication and Computational Software:
The use of digital fabrication tools and software aided in transforming complex 3D models into tangible components, harnessing automation and efficiency, and actualizing the nightclub's distinctive aesthetic quickly.
