As an artist based in New York City, my work delves into the human experience within the urban landscape. I strive to capture the energy and diversity of the city using traditional mediums such as charcoal, ink, and oil paint. My art evokes emotions and memories in the viewer, prompting self-reflection and contemplation of one's understanding of themselves and their place in the world. While these may not be the viewer's own, they can still feel familiar, shaping our understanding of ourselves and the world.
Through my art, I aim to encourage the viewer to question the validity of human-constructed concepts like societal roles and to explore alternative perspectives to gain a more nuanced understanding of reality.
My process starts with a traditional medium, such as painting or drawing, but I'm not afraid to deviate from it, often experimenting with variations through technical studies. This results in an evolution of the initial concept, making each piece unique and thought-provoking.
I often incorporate technology as a tool to enhance my traditional medium. Whether it's through 3D modeling, laser cutting, or AI, I use a wide range of mediums for composition, lighting studies, and as a way to push the boundaries of imagery
I received my MFA in fine arts from the Complutense University of Madrid in 2007 and spend most of my time at my East Village Studio in New York City. Some of my relevant installation works include 'Oligarch Cub' in Brooklyn 2016, 'Sukkahville' art installation in Toronto 2012, and 'Divine Line' at Inrivers art Gallery (Brooklyn). I am a founding member of the art collective Vainica Project and have been included in solo and group exhibitions at Aronson Gallery (NYC), Fowler Studios (Brooklyn), The Roommate Hotel (NYC), Mel Lastman (Toronto). My former experience includes working for several New York architecture and fabrication studios, where I acquired my experience as a project manager and architectural elements fabricator, skills I incorporate into my processes and creations. I currently produce digital art at a commercial level.
