Video Projection | Interactive

'Topo' is an interactive projection that reacts to sound. It consists on a series of lines arrayed along a plane that react to motion by creating oscillating waves. The contouring lines move in a parabolic way on a 2 dimension plane and behave according to different sound frequencies and in relationship to the neighbor spline. The result is fast changing topography represented in high contrasted colors. Sounds are captured by a microphone connected to an Arduino board which will send the data to the grasshopper plugin in the computer. 

The project is inspired by the landscaping topographic drawings usually developed to understand land-forms and terrain relief, drainage, forest cover, populated areas and other man-made features.
